An average fish will be between 50cm and 70cm (20ins to 28ins) A big Grass Carp is around the 90cm (3ft) mark and 14kg (30lb) or more. DISTRIBUTION: The Grass Carp is sparsely distributed in Britain. Few lakes, rivers or canals will have a population of Grass Carp but are found in navigation and drainage channels. HABITS: Grass Carp are solitary fish. Not known to breed in the wild anywhere in Europe DIET: The natural diet includes vegetable matter. BAITS: Popular baits include: Boily and bread. METHOD: A variety of fishing methods are popular with anglers for this fish, including float and ledger.
