An average fish will be between 10cm and 15cm (4ins to 6ins) A big Gudgeon is around the 20cm (8ins) mark. DISTRIBUTION: The Gudgeon is widely distributed in most of England and Wales but absent from most of Scotland. Most rivers, lakes and canals will have a population of Gudgeon but predominantly found in rivers. HABITS: Gudgeon are shoaling fish DIET: The natural diet includes anything edible that will fit in its mouth! - insects, larvae, molluscs, seeds. BAITS: Popular baits include: Bread, casters, maggots. METHOD: A variety of fishing methods are popular with anglers for this fish, including float. GOOD LOCATIONS: Just about anywhere!
