An average fish will be anything up to 25cm (10ins) A big Rudd is around the 40cm (16ins) mark. DISTRIBUTION: The Rudd fish is widely distributed in England, Wales and Ireland. Many back waters of rivers, lakes and some canals or drainage channels will have a population of Rudd but predominantly found in slow moving rivers. HABITS: Rudd are shoaling fish DIET: The natural diet includes anything edible including plants - insects, larvae, even flying insects will be taken. BAITS: Popular baits include: Bread, casters, maggots, shrimp, tinned meats, cheese and worm. METHOD: A variety of fishing methods are popular with anglers for this fish, including float, fly and ledger. GOOD LOCATIONS: Norfolk Broads.
