An average fish will be around 25cm (10ins) A big Silver Bream is around the 36cm (14ins) mark but rarely over 500grms (1lb). DISTRIBUTION: The Silver Bream is widely distributed in lowland Britain but absent from Ireland and Scotland. Some rivers and canals will have a population of Silver Bream but predominantly found in rivers close to vegetation and where the current is slow. HABITS: Silver Bream are shoaling fish DIET: The natural diet includes just about anything edible plants - insects, larvae, small aquatic creatures. BAITS: Popular baits include: Bread, casters, maggots, shrimp, tinned meats, cheese and worm. METHOD: A variety of fishing methods are popular with anglers for this fish, including float and ledger.
