Knots: Fishing hook knot tying - simple fishing hook knot.

How to tie the Palomar knot for eyed hooks.

Here is How to tie a fishing hook knot - a simple fishing hook knot - the 'palomar knot'.

Take about 10cm of the end of the fishing line and fold double and feed through the eye of the hook.

Loop the folded line through itself loosely - do not pull tight!

Bring the loop down and drop the hook through it - still keep everything loose!

Pulling the hook gently through the end of the loop.

Wet the line thoroughly! (Saliva is best!) Hold the hook gently and pull the two ends of the line in opposite directions allowing the wet line to slide into the knot at the eye of the hook.

Trim off the excess line about 2 - 3mm from the knot. The palomar knot is now complete!
